HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER PT.2

KNOW YOUR BUDGET.
Another important thing to consider when choosing your
wedding photographer is your budget.
How much you should spend on your photographer,
depends on your expectations. What do you want from
your photographs and how important are they to you?
Your photographs are not only your memories they are
the memories of how your children, grandchildren and
family will also remember your big day.
They are your family history
Some photographers prices may be higher than others
due to the length of time they have been in business and
the amount of experience they may have.
As with everything else the best thing to do is to talk to
friends, talk to your potential choices of photographer about
their experiences with weddings. Ask what the price includes
Check out websites, check their reviews, feedback, social
media pages.
Find out exactly what your are paying for and when you will
receive your photos.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER PT.1

UNDERSTAND YOUR VISION AND STYLE.
It can be fun to find out what style of photos you
would like. I would suggest that most people
nowadays are moving away from the old traditional
format of posed phots and are looking more for
relaxed, candid, fun, natural type of photos.
Cheesy photos are a great idea, even if that's not
your normal style, they will always get a good
laughing phot of you both and when looking back
at them and will be fun to remember.

A popular style would be taking candid photos of
you and your guests, these could be taken, during the
speeches and ceremony of guests laughing or
shedding a wee tear, As the bride and groom you
maybe too busy and will miss these little moments.
Another popular style is the more traditional images
of yourself and all family members in posed positions.

CELLARDYKE TIDAL POOL LOONY DOOK
What an amazing day it was on Saturday 30th March down
at Cellardyke Tidal Pool in Fife. I had the opportunity to
take photos at a fundraising Loony Dook in which Wild
Swimmers from all over Scotland came along and took part,
to help raise funds for the Anstruther harbour Festival in
August later this year. A special well done and thanks to
Dawnah Selfridge who organised the event and invited
us along to take the pics.

FISHING TRIPS --- RELAXATION
When I'm not busy in the studio, or taking photos at parties
and weddings or editing photos, one of the ways I like to relax
is to go fishing. I always take my camera with me as I don't
always catch any fish but I do usually get the chance to catch
some amazing photos of my surroundings. I love places like
Anstruther in Fife which is a working harbour and is usually
quite busy with fishing boats going in and out the harbour.

NATURE WALKS AND SHOOTS
Whilst the studio was relatively quite during January and
the start of February I took the opportunity to get out and
about and visit some local beauty spots in Fife and increase
my collection of nature shoots. Visited Loch Leven, Riverside
Park, Silverburn Park in Leven and a few trips down to
Anstruther and Crail. See my Street Art page for a selection
of photos from these trips.

that you try on your wedding dress the day before your

that there are no wrinkles or creases on it, as you will
not have time on your wedding day to sort things out.

LOCH LEVEN JANUARY 2024
January is traditionally a quite time in the studio, so with
a light flurry of snow laying overnight it gave me time to
take a trip out to Loch Leven Nature Reserve and get a few
crisp winters photos of the loch.

LOONY DOOKERS, LEVEN
Another great opportunity presented itself this year
"LOONY DOOKING" an event which many people take part
in on January 1st every year. We just happened to be
on Leven beach that morning when  the Leven Loony
Dookers were taking part in their second Loony Dook
and we managed to get some photos. See more on my
facebook page. I hope to be joining them throughout
the year to get some more photos of these nutty, brave
people.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Happy new year to all my previous clients and supporters, your
support has been very much appreciated.
With the new year comes some new ideas and new props etc.
We have New shoots lined up for 2024, including Engaged Couples
Shoots, Couples Boudior Shoots, new email lists to help keep our
clients past and future up to date with what is going on at the
studio and elsewhere.

CHRISTMAS FAMILY SHOOTS.
This was my first year of doing Christmas Family Shoots in my own
studio. It was great fun with several families coming along to have
their Christmas photos taken. We had several great props for these
shoots including a Santa Sleigh and lots of snowballs which were
put to great use in our spontaneous snowball fights.
We're already working on ideas for next Christmas.
See facebook page for photos.

HALLOWEEN PARTY.
Halloween gave me another opportunity to take some fantastic
photos of clients in fancy dress., (many of which you can see on
my facebook page). It was a really busy night with almost everyone
coming along in fancy dress.

HALLOWEEN MONSTERS BALL
Another Themed Party at which we were invited along to was
The Monsters Ball, held at Pinkertons in Glenrothes..
As the title suggests the theme was Monsters and lots of
little "monsters" turned up dressed as their favourite monsters.
We set up a Monsters Corner, consisting of Black Backdrops,
Mummy, Laughing Witch, Werewolf, Mini vampire, Frankenstein,
lots of cobwebs and spiders. The effects were amazing and the
little monsters loved every minute of getting their photos taken.

SUPER HEROES PARTY.
I recently had the opportunity to be part of a themed children's party.
The theme was  a Super Heroes Party held at Pinkertons in Glenrothes.
My assistant and myself set up a corner of the room with a couple of
super hero banners and a giant Iron Man Inflatable. Dozens of young
super heroes turned up dressed as their favourite super hero and we
were there on hand to capture lots of amazing images.

PARTY PHOTOGRAPHER SERVICE.
A new service that I started introducing earlier this year is that of
a Party Photographer.
Everyone books a photographer for their wedding, so why not  do
the same for your celebrations?
As your Party Photographer I will make sure that you have amazing
memories of your celebration and of you and your guests having a
great time.

BACK TO SCHOOL SHOOTS.
One of my first types of shoots which I held when I opened my
new studio, was a Back to School Shoot. These took place as the
name suggests, just before kids go back to school after the
holidays. Also looking to do a few more around the school breaks/
holidays.

MY OWN STUDIO
I now have my own photography Studio. At the start of July I got
the keys to my own Studio. I was so excited to open the doors to
my own studio and at the same time I was as nervous as hell.
Spent a couple of days moving all the equipment in and trying out
several different layouts.
This will now allow me to increase my range of shoots available to
include Family shoots, Portraits, Back to School, Boudior, Pet shoots
and special occasion dates such as Halloween, Christmas etc.

EXCITING NEWS.
During the month of June, I decided to take the plunge and start looking
for premises to use as my Studio. Towards the end of the month I found
a large unit which with a bit of work and imagination could be turned
into my studio.
This was on top of several photoshoots and functions.

MONTH OF MAY  AWARDS NIGHT AT GARVOCK HOUSE.
The month of May was another hectic month as I decided to start
redecorating my house inbetween sorting out hundreds  of photographs
from April's Bridal Shoot.
I also had my first Awards Night for Dunfermline Hockey Club at
Garvock House Hotel in Dunfermline.

BRIDAL PHOTOSHOOT AT PINKERTONS.
April turned out to be a very busy month as I started to put together
my biggest Bridal Shoot to date. Working with wedding supplier,
Belle of the Ball & Bijou Events, I booked a local venue called
Pinkertons in Glenrothes and then searched for models to take part
on the day.
We ended up with 6 brides, 2 male models and 2 flower girls and
28 wedding dresses to get through. On top of this I had organised
several wedding props for the shoot which were supplied by local
DJ business Straightshooter discos. Prop wise we had led LOVE letters,
a Starlight Wedding Backdrop,  Dancing on Clouds effects and Confetti
Cannons and a selection of inflatable props. Photos can be seen on my
facebook page.

DJ & ENTERTAINERS SHOW SCOTLAND.
This was a biggie for me. I got invited along to the DJ & ENTERTAINERS
SHOW SCOTLAND to record the days event through photographs.
There were numerous National and International Companies being
represented at this show (no pressure there then), which was held at
the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew just outside Glasgow.  Photos from the
show can be seen on my website under Commercial Work or on my
facebook business page Carolsinclairphotography.

BRIDAL SHOOT AT THE VICTORIA HOTEL.
February saw us with two bridal photoshoots, one for a local bridal shop
and one for The Victoria Hotel in Kirkcaldy. Due to circumstances
outwith our control we ended up doing a mini shoot at the hotel as our
bridal supplier pulled out at the last minute.
Still as they say "the show must go on" and it did and we still managed
to produce some amazing pictures both for ourselves and for the hotel.

BUSY START TO THE YEAR.
Its been a very busy start to the year 2023, with various
photoshoots, bridal shoots and some commercial
product work an a trip up to the Highlands, all condensed
into the first few months.
Only just starting to catch up for a short period of time
before it all kicks off again with wedding season.

DALMUNZIE HOUSE HOTEL.
Dalmunzie Hotel up in Glenshee, such a stunning beautiful hotel.
The grounds are so picturesque and the backdrop to the hotel is
absolutely jaw dropping. Such a warm welcoming atmosphere with
really friendly staff. The hotel has a homely feeling with luxurious
rooms. Absolutely stunning place to visit.

GARVOCK HOUSE HOTEL
It was a pleasure to return  this elegant venue and their beautiful grounds.
Its a real showstopper of a venue with plenty of stunning features inside.
A brides dream venue for glamorous weddings, or even a school prom or anniversary
or birthday celebrations. The staff are amazing and deliver a great professional
speedy service. The whole venue is absolutely spectacular and certainly has the
WOW factor. I would highly recommend this venue.

JULY 2022

July has been busy month for me, with several weddings, some family
photoshoots, portraits shots and a trip up to the Highlands with my
German photographer friend..

SILVERWOOD LODGES
Stunning wedding venue situated in Inchcoonans near Errol.
A fantastic new resort, well suited for weddings and other special occasions.
Can be hired for exclusive use for your wedding or other special event.

CAMBO HOUSE ESTATE. / SILVERWOOD LODGES
Decided to go out car booting on Sunday to look for some props for
photoshoots. Started off at Crail car boot sale and then headed up to Tayport.
On the way we popped in to Cambo Country House and Estate, just
outside Kingsbarns. What an absolutely stunning wedding location. With
its own private grounds there are numerous woodland walks  and beautiful
gardens. Could have spent a lot more time there but had to go to next boot
sale at Tayport. After Tayport we headed up to Errol and then came across
Silverwood Lodges at Inchcoonans. Another stunning wedding location
which sits next to Silverwood trout Fishery. Will need to go back to both
venues at a later time and explore more.

GROUSE & CLARET
Had a wee day out on Sunday 1st May to visit the Grouse & Claret
in Kinross. What breathtaking views  and stunning grounds.
So many picturesque views that I had to take lots of photos.
The grounds are so beautiful and there is a stunning little restaurant
which looks out onto the Kinross Trout Fishery. Just gorgeous

DRAG RACING AT CRAIL AIRFIELD.
Crail raceway is located in Fife and held on the ex military airfield site
at Crail. A big spacious place which plays host to fantastic DRAG and DRIFT
events on a regular basis. It's a brilliant day out for all the family especially
if you love cars.Even just walking around there is so much to see, with all these
amazing cars, new cars and vintage cars. Such a fun day.
Car boot sales are also held at the airfield  on different dates.

PRODUCT LAUNCH
Had my first Product Launch Photoshoot in March this year which took place in a local venue called Pinkertons Lounge and Function Suite
in Glenrothes..
It was for a local tattoo artist called John Houston - Tattoo who is launching his own range of clothing products under the name Slick Rick.
As well as taking photographs I put together this little promo video

SILVERBURN PARK.
I was lost for words the first time I visited the park. Such a fantastic wee find indeed.
The surroundings were truly gorgeous and endless possibilities if your a keen photographer.
The park is full of hidden paths which take you to other parts of the garden which will just take your breath away.
Plenty of wildlife. Plenty of places to have a picnic. It even has its own duck pond with a permanent "keep"
where you can sit and watch the ducks.
They also have a campsite with 3 camping pods.
If you have never been before, please I urge you to go, They even have a lovely little cafe that has home-made
daily bakes and hot and cold snacks available.
